Wow.. we are getting alot of snow this year! One thing about up here you can count on it! The seasons come like clockwork and there is a definate difference in Summer and Winter like about 60 degrees celcius at times. Well it hit hard and fast this year. Beautifull but c-o-l-d.

Well being out in the country the dial-up connection is fritzing and the photos are slow coming .. also Being global warming I think we are going to have palm trees up here pretty soon....it was over 30( celsius) yesterday....
.its very nice up here now though the weather is odd for Canada.. I guess I'll have to pack in the dog-sled this year and not start building the igloo yet... many people are worried about the "climate change"..but between you and me I think Canadians are rather enjoying it!....
Maybe that's why the dollar is going up many see the writing on the wall and want a piece of the action.. Of course Alberta oil might have a bit to do with it...I feel a little sorry for those poor Polar bears though.

I realised after looking at my blog that it needs work especially with a name like Canadian Fish. I need to put Canada in the picture a bit more and stand true to that fair country of my expatriotisation( can you say that?with an s?)) seeing how all the Americans I know like to diss the place...I will say a few words on that grand countries' behalf.
We stand on Guard for thee.
.OH Canada..where the majority tax dollars flow towards social programs( like socialised medicine,childcare) and not towards the "defense budget"..
Oh Canada where the water is still pure and the land pristine and uncrowded ( relatively free from pollution).....a nature lovers paradise

Hi to all who enter the portals of CanadianFish Land....
.... .....after longperiods of silence....i stir and rumble a few words at fishescyberspacestation and then go back into hybernation( that's what it feels like anyway)...
now you Californians and other Southerners can weatherbrag smugly reassure yourselves in to your t-shirts beer and barbeques!
I've figured out why so many Americans are so obese and Canadians aren't..WE SHOVEL SNOW!.. WE EXERCISE! (I can have it both ways being American and Canadian at the same time)So when I want to diss USA (or get fair medical treatment) I become Canadian {poof!} when I want to be American I become American..hah
Fattest state TEXAS or was it MISSISSIPPI.. Anyway proves the point HOT equals FAT.. Dogs don't laze off in the Winter..It's always the summer hot lazy dogs flys buzzing around their heads,etc .

We are up here shoveling and getting trimmer by the minute !Hah
Of course I am speaking in generalities and there are alot of trim Americans that do exercise but on the whole ....Canadians (in general) just have to work harder for the "simple things".. like getting out to the mailbox for example or going to the store..put on your boots...2 or 3 layers of clothing...winter scarf,hat,etc....if after a storm.. we have to shovel a path to the mail box..( Oh yeah they won't even deliver the mail if its not clear) Now that's just if its on the road in FRONT of the house.. now if its a ways away and you've gotta DRIVE... now you've gotta "plug in" the vehicle ( whah? whats' that? say southern people).. That's a little electrical heater to the oilpan from the house to the car so the engine oil won't be too thick and ruin the pistons at startup).. then wait for an hour. then clean the snow off the car shovel the driveway etc...Depending on how big your driveway is and how much snow has fallen it can be a big job!
Now if you live in a rural area like we do and do all the snow removal from porches,roof,driveway mailbox it can be a big load of work. If you live in a condo in the city with underground parkinglot...then hey even Canadians can get fat..hah.
Now my sparetire will testify against this snow equals trim/fit article but I did say "in general" hah. ...OK gotta go shovel the driveway n0w see you in the SPRING! around the corner they say but man that seems a big corner up here. LOVE from beautiful CANADA

Merry Christmas and happy new year to all our wonderful divers and talented family...we truly are a blessed bunch and have lots to be thankful for...I have lost count of the myriad of blessings that God has sent my ( our ) way. You are all beautiful and thank you so much for your cards and photos a true miracle wow..12 kids and healthy babies etc.. You guys are great!!!
Maybe you wouldn't know how much I appreciate you ... my family.... being the sporadic blogger that I am,poor writer,and do find communication a sacrafice ..stubborn soul that I am...I find myself in forgive me mode only squeaking out a pitiful "sorry" for not communicating more and being a better blogger....and father.. and grandfather .and can only chastise myself as unworthy worm of a dad. We had a "humble" Christmas I guess compared to the average westerner,small manger scene in the corner,few presents ,little money, lots of snow . I was the honorable cook along with Nathalie who peeled the potatoes. The turkey turned out great.. !cranberry sauce,beer,mashed potatoes and gravy( God bless our stomachs). We jammed( played music) in the living room to tunes ranging from "God rest ye merry gentlemen" to the latest heavy metal while our tree constantly reminded us of the season.. and we finally settled down to "Grinch who stole Christmas" and dozed off in the wee hours..... Love and peace all!

Well today is September 22nd 2 days before Rita hits Texas and we are up here in Quebec Canada.
The weather is still beautifiul and the trees are turning color now. David is visiting and helping me on a job in the forest. We are cutting our firewood for the winter, also hoping to have a little extra to sell as the price is going up because of the oil crisis. We are debating on getting a horse but being so far away from everything we would have even less fellowship which is the downside of living out here in beautiful pollution-free

Today is August 31st, 2005. David made it safely for his visit. We all missed him! Regarding some of my pictures, they did not all pass my approval since I did not know about them. Well, this is a good time to Praise the Lord for keeping me humble. Also, we finally got a new computer. TYJ! And thank you David... I am an errant blogger. However, I have a few children, who make up for my lack of words. Especially Nathalie. Je suis un blogger errante. Mes enfants fait ca pour moi. That was my attempt at french. Anyway if you want to go to an interesting blogspot check out http://www.mikeandnina.net they really have it together. I mean their blogspot is really together. It's really cool. Lately I've been working on a few projects in the yard. Along with trying to goad my teenagers into going outside once in a while. It's actually a very beautiful place where we live. It's just like I feel like I'm raising large moles who are glued to electrionic devices. They rarely see the sun as they get up as the sun is going down. And they peek around twelve midnight just as I'm signing off. Well I've never seen anything like this. Sebby said he went to bed at 4 AM the other day. And today he got up at 1:30 to be honest as I was exaggerating a little. When I want them to help with the chores around the house it seems like it's ten times more work than doing it myself. I just don't know what to do anymore. But all in all they're pretty good kids. They're just very lazy. I tell Nathalie she will be the Nutty proffessor if she keeps eating the way she does and as far as Sebby's home skills go he just informed me the only meal he knows how to cook is breakfast. Which usually is raw oats or toast and eggs. Sebby is acutally a very talented boy. But his inspiration does not have anything to do with home making or work. Nathalie on the other hand is a good cook, and usually a lot easier to get to do things. When I need an apple pie, I just tell her if she wants to go on the internet.... ... Am I a bad father?

Well we've been camping out for about a week in Sherbrooke ,Quebec about a half hour from the Vermont border.. We tryed "busking"( street performance) at a "Just for Laughs" festival..( a famous comedy festival with stand up comedians from all over North America) and that was really a laugh we were starting to rake in the money when we got bumped by the co-ordinater who said we needed permit. I think they should change the name of the festival to "Just For Money" hah. We are planning to go up to Quebec city in a few days to go camping.,Just like we did when our kids were little.
Chateau Frontenac and old Quebec is very European with cobblestone streets and French architecture.Some of the first settlers in North America landed here..The French influence is very strong so no "freedom fries" around here boys.., and don't any of you Americans go breaking those bottles of french wine..Viva le Quebec Libre!

Well sorry for being a deliquent,sporadic blogger but I never have been too good with Diaries( I think thats how you spell it)...... but it's actually been a pretty interesting life...and I think I have been blessed more than most people and have been to alot more places and done alot more things than most people.. I will tell you @ it some day in more detail if you ask but since Nathalie is bugging me to use the comp. it will not be today.
We had a very exciting and interesting winter this year and got to travel across the U.S.A and visit all 12 of our kids in different states and even visit my brother in Hawaiin Islands.
Now we are back in Quebec waiting to go on our next adventure..right now I will plant the potatoe/tomatoe garden and tend to the business at hand. God's love and peace be on all who read this.Peace Out

Well I've been freezing on and off for a week up in the deer blind I've seen alot of females and young bucks but no big ones and I'm waiting PATIENTLY as thats what it takes to be a HUNTER come to think of it I'm a FISHER so that takes patience too. Its a beautiful fall day outside. The sky is so blue and the countryside beautiful up here, It started getting cold at night so we started heating with wood again.Our house has TWO woodstoves wow the one in the living room took three guys to get it in it's so big and heavy (called a "slowburning" stove as you put one log in and shut the vents and it goes all night. It's quite an art up here ( combustion lentement)(french for slowburning) as the wood has to be just so dry and just so much air allowed and you can pretty much control the heat of your house. And up here that's a BIG deal.(No I haven't got out the dogsled and built the igloo yet.)Haha Before all the Canada jokes come out.Having grown up in California I am amazed at how little we learned @ Canada in the public school but thats a whole other blog for another day! Eh!
I sold my 3030 rifle and so all I have now is the twelve gauge shotgun to shoot a deer with this year. I've built the blind in the back and hunting season will start in @ a week. The deer here are getting quite bold even going into our barn to eat apples and carrots in broad daylight when I was working under the truck. @the twelve gauge you might wonder how to kill a deer with a shotgun but they have these shells called "deerslugs" that is a single shot and they do the trick.Normally shotguns use buckshot for ducks and small game but i need the $ this year so byebye 3030.More later CYA
